Christopher Anderson

Senior software engineer, frontend focus

I spent nearly a decade at 64labs modernizing ecommerce for established brands. During that time, I grew from full-stack delivery into leading the development team and technical direction while remaining hands-on with React, TypeScript, headless commerce, and CMS platforms.

At the end of 2023, after nearly 20 years in the industry, I took a planned mid-career break for family priorities and time to reset. That included time fully away from engineering. I later returned to engineering through a variety of smaller personal projects before focusing more deeply on Eyepiece and Room Layout. Both are live and include the architecture decision records behind the work.

Work

Eyepiece

Eyepiece is an astronomy image search and collections website built around the NASA Image and Video Library and the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum collection. Users can browse both archives in an accessible, keyboard-navigable image grid, with filters and metadata tailored to each provider. Asset details open over the current results while retaining a real, shareable URL. Public pages stay cacheable while a separate signed-in layer adds favorites and public or private collections.

Room Layout

Room Layout is a browser-based, retail-style 3D planner for selecting catalog furniture and exploring how different pieces and arrangements work together in a configurable room. Selection, movement, rotation, and camera control all work with either pointer or keyboard. Document state, history, and shared editing rules live in a headless core rather than being coupled to React or Three.js. Layouts are autosaved for recovery and shareable through a URL.

What I’m looking for

I’m looking for a senior engineering role on an owned, evolving product, where I can learn the system, strengthen it over time, and contribute for the long term. My depth is in frontend engineering, but I’m comfortable working beyond the frontend when the work calls for it. Resume · LinkedIn · GitHub · resume@christopheranderson.net
